Yeah, it’s not something that would be taught using a simple Tutorial im afraid.
I suggest you join a coding forum too.
codeguru.com as mentioned is good and also Sourceforge.net is good.
You can get lots of free (but very good) code there to play with, plus you can join friendly development teams at any level.
Good coding is as much an art as a technical skill, which is why it’s not realistic to expect to learn it from a book.
You need to practice a lot and learn from other people.
