AVG is ok
Answer #2
Nod32 or Avast is more reliable.
Answer #3
You could try G-Data. Ask this guy for a license key:

there’s no such thing as a “best anti virus” people have different opinions when it comes to them. I personally use MSE (Microsoft security essentials) and I’m happy with it.

Answer #6
I used to have AVG but sometimes it gave fase positives.
Now I’m a happy Avast user, never had any problems.

Over the years I think have tried them all at least once & they are all pretty much the same if you ask me
Yes I know some may be quicker but to be any good at detection they need responsible people to update the virus definitions regularly.
Out of them all Microsoft Security essential is probably just as good or better at doing these definition updates than most, & it’s free.
So I go for that. I think when sales start to drop the big Price charging Antivirus boys
actually make up viruses to generate their sales.
I don’t trust any of the pricey AV Companies, snake oil merchants
Answer #9
using avast pro for now
Answer #10
For me, ultimate combination would be MSE & MBAM, both free.
Answer #11
Microsoft security essentials.
Answer #12
Kaspersky pure, also got MBAM installed too.
Answer #13
Avast is all the best it is not for any problem each other
Answer #14
Avira or Avast with comodo firewall.
Kis 2013 is what I’m using.
But I would say that your common sense is the best AV.
Cheers
Answer #15
How the software is configured is far more important than the vendor.
if your comodo firewall isn’t set to block all ports except those you define as needed then your worse off than when you started with the windows firewall, That means you will have to make exceptions for applications like steam and voip.
These days you’ll be needing a security suite with filters for http https etc (note these will screw up your download manager only allowing single connections) and intrusion prevention.
Answer #16
Avast works fine for me.
Answer #17
As for the mainstream software.. I wouldn’t recommend the free AVG. Kaspersky is sometimes heavy on cpu. MBAM and Hitman Pro are a trusty second opinion. Avast and Avira are good. As stated before, common sense and configuration are far more important. Visiting dodgy sites and downloading ominous files will get you a tasty trojan no matter what software you’re using.
Answer #18
For few years i’m using eset smart security and still have os win from 2009 without any problems
Answer #19
I use to be a hugh fan of Avira Internet Security but now their software suit has turned into bloatware with senseless configurations but also I’m sick of chasing down license keys. I will be relaying a lot less on Anti Virus software and more on backup, restore and recovery. Encryption also.
Software like: Acronis True Image, Faronic’s Deep Freeze, Truecrypt and 1password. A good descent VPN would be useful also

you can try avast then or another one. letting viruses build up on your computer until you have to use a backup is a VERY bad idea. for one, a hacker can see what you type, where you go, what you do, and steal your passwords, even for here, and use your account to post spam or viruses, and get your account locked. and if you do online banking, he can get your money too..

Well I have used AVG Free, Avast, and Panda Cloud Antivirus. Along with some commercial Nod and Norton.
Now nothing can compete with any commercial anti-virus there are great alternatives and nothing helps when a FUD crypter is used. Keep in mind that using free anti-virus software is like wearing a thin jacket in cold weather. It will help protect you, just not the best to have.
For light weight, speed, and free Panda Cloud Antivirus is just simply the best. Give it a try.
For Free, offline database, and fast try AVG Free.
Commercial is Bitdefender Antivirus Plus 2013

If you pay for commercial antivirus you still wear damn jacket – one you paid for is different because it has “more layers of protection” and cool logo. It still works on same rules as free ones and as free ones it’s vulnerable to threats. Nothing can compete with virtualization or HIPS, that’s for sure.
Answer #25
i use Bitdefender, i bought it legitimately, its everything i need from an antivirus and more
Answer #26
How about McAfee is anybody using that?
I had it as a trial when I bought my laptop, don’t know I think it’s okay as well
I wanna try bitdefender but I can’t find a good crack.
