Have a look at the file with Mediainfo to see what the audio format is..

and show us what it say.
Also have a look at movies that do work and see what sound they use.
Firstly, I never download a movie unless it gives the full encoding specs. This one for example only provides:
Size: 601.05 MB
Quality: 720p
Resolution: 1280*544
Frame Rate: 23.976 fps
Language: English
Run Time: 1hr 35 min
MPR: PG-13
You really need at least the codec (video and audio used) and the bitrates used.
I’m going to guess with a file this small, that the audio is coded as MP3 – which will not play in many blu-ray players, as putting mp3 audio into an mp4 container (guessing again) is not within the standards.
If my guesses are correct, you can use xmedia recode to keep the video (no recoding req’d), and convert just the audio to AAC.
