Audio Drivers For a Laptop

September 25th, 2013

Hello to all who read this post & to those who respond. Here’s the scenario, I did a clean install of Windows Vista on my Dell Inspiron 9300 & added the Dell drivers. Everything is working except for the audio drivers. Also, the Dell Inspiron 9300 originally came with Windows XP Media Center Edition. So I’m guessing that the audio drivers only supported Windows XP & not Vista. Is there anyway around it fix the issue? Many thanks in advance for help/advice.

You can try to find and download the program Driver Genius Pro, probably even on this site. After that run it and it should be able to pick up your missing drivers. I bought a new laptop with Windows 7 Home Premium and did a clean install of Windows 7 Pro to get rid of all the factory installed garbage programs but it also deleted my drivers. With Driver Genius Pro I was able to get all my drivers back up to date and working.

Thanks for the info but this is a last resort that was in the back of my mind. Usually programs like these can cause harm or registry issues. Due to, downloading drivers that are still on BETA, etc. Any other suggestions?
