App to search within texts, docs

Dear All,
Please suggest me an app which will enable me to find the occurrence of a particular text within text files, word docs, excel files etc.

Have you tried the normal Windows search? It’s pretty powerful in Windows 7/8, see screenshot

he’s not asking for a search program, he’s asking for a program that eg can search for specific text inside a text document and to my knowledge no such program exists

Both solutions I suggested are doing that. In the screenshot you can see it is finding a string of text within the document. The software itself also looks inside the document.

Dood, just use Notepad++ Ctrl+F Find in Files tab
Or if you are on linux grep -nr “term” /dir
Both of these support regex too.
PS: Word and Excel documents are not text documents.
