amazon is not honoring their price match, what do I do?

January 30th, 2020

I bought a tv at amazon for $849.99
at costco.com they have it for $749.99
Before I ordered from amazon i called amazon and they said they would refund a $100 as a price match guarantee after the item has shipped.
Then after it shipped they emailed me and said
“oh sorry we can’t honor it because the tv is sold through a 3rd party on our website” even though when *I* ordered it it was through amazon not one of their 3rd party sellers. It just so happens that it’s currently being sold through a 3rd party.
I told them about that because that’s obviously a mistake.
THEN they emailed and said “oh sorry we can’t honor it because shipping on amazon is free but on costco it’s $99.99 so the difference is only one cent”
What ~ censored ~. The shipping prices don’t matter I could very well just pick it up.

Answer #1
Nothing you can do except return the item at your own expense and get a refund.
And write a email to the complants/customer services stating you wish to complain. They don’t need to do anything though.
Answer #2
Call and ask to speak with a supervisor. Good luck! Keep fighting.
Answer #3
Well I talked to another guy who saw the original note that said they’d match the price before i even ordered it. So he honored it. But it would have been free return shipping at least
Answer #4
The holidays bring out the best in retailers. Smile Glad to hear you’re getting it honored!
