Advent Roma 1000 Laptop keeps Shutting Down

Hey, my Girlfriend for the Advent Roma 1000 Laptop but for some reason out of the blue it just shuts down…
it isn’t overheating, nothing is blocking the fan at the bottom,
shes done all the Windows Updates…
theres no Viruses,
what else could be the reason?

Why on Earth would someone buy something like this?!
The Advent Roma 1000's slow single-core processor makes it unsuitable for demanding tasks, and its battery life is terrible, but it's fine as a low-cost secondary computer, or even as a main computer if you don't ask too much of it.
Anyway, OT, crappy HW… Failure is immanent…

Well thats the thing, she doesnt do anything with it, turns it on and just plays a film on it, has no programs running etc, just VLC and thats it, yet it still goes off.

It could be anything, you are just not being specific enough.
I take it that it does this when connected to the mains electricity rather than just on battery ?
Does it give any indication that it is going to shut down, or just zap it’s dead ?
