If you’re looking for something that will block an entire site have a look at K9. Customizable by category and can add sites to blacklist or whitelist. Good for keeping you from falling into bad sites unprepared.

True and I use both on every computer I own along with K9. K9 blocks by content category. I like it because it blocks those ad sites that pop up when you click download on some file hosts. Hope this makes sense.

if you are looking a complete protection for every application not only browsers , Ad Muncher is reputable software and recommended by many to me , although i have not used it.
actually there is an inbuilt tracking protection on the latest release of firefox. it is by far the best overall adblocker for browsers i have ever seen with a strict list from disconnect.me but it only works on private browsing mode. i sent a msg to a friend of mine who contributes development of firefox to learn if that protection can be used also on standard user session through some tweaks. if it is possible , i will write back here when i got the response.
on the other hand , blocking malware domains is not the job of adblockers or tracking blockers. you need a separate software for it , an internet security. even best ones have not good detection ratio for new malware domains since there are many appearing everyday and it takes time for them to enter malicious url list of av companies. for known sites which can store malware or a malicious code , you need to rely on exploit protection and heuristics of an antivirus. kaspersky , bitdefender and norton are very good at it.
