Windows 7 – Front panel audio jacks not working

August 4th, 2016

I just installed Windows 7 Build 7127 onto my HP Pavilion PC, model m7360n. I installed the Realtek HD Audio Codec on the realtek website. The updated Vista version is supposed to be compatible with Windows 7.
All of the audio jacks in my computer work except the Headphone and Microphone jacks on my front panel. In the Realtek Audio Manager screen the two jacks are faded out a bit. So basically, the speakers work but the headphones do not.
I have already tried uninstalling the sound card and I have tried reinstalling the Realtek Audio codec.
How can I fix this problem?

Answer #1
if you reboot with the headphones plugged in to the front pannel, dose it work?
