Can’T get front port audio to work

November 14th, 2013

Hi, I’m trying to use my front audio port with my headset. My Motherboard is a Gigabyte GA-EP45-UD3P and my case is a Cooler Master HAF 932. I have had success with using my headset plugged into the back of the PC. My mic works fine in the front port of the PC but for some reason the PC doesn’t recognize the headphone part in the front ports. I have installed the newest drivers and looked at all audio settings, enabled and disabled and changed levels but still nothing. As of right now my main audio source is a surround sound receiver using S/PDIF.
I find it weird that my PC recognizes the microphone but not the audio as seen http://i.~ Disallowed host.  Please use another image host. ~/Z9iym.jpg. Can anyone give some more trouble shooting tips?

Answer #1
Your images are not working for me.
FPA can be AC97 or Intel HD Audio and they are wired differently.
Answer #2
You took a screenshot of Recording devices, not Playback ftl.
You are asking about a mic right?
Answer #3
I had the same problem with a Nzxt Tower, My problem was the actual ports were faulty, They were bent up just slightly so the connection wouldnt work unless you manually forced it up by putting a fair bit of pressure on the jack pulling up.
Answer #4
I have the same tower, and the same problem. Did you check if your USB port works at front, if it doesn’t work too then the front panel is dead. Mine died with headphones ports. Just at once it went all off… There was that kinky smell when something burns, that’s it. :/
Answer #5
Maybe the front ports are not connected to the motherboard. You should check that.
