Front Audio Port Not Working
August 5th, 2016
I downloaded an update to my audio driver and it installed an HD Audio program
ever since i cannot plug my headphones and microphone in the front of the pc they always have to go in the rear which is a load of messing around with unplugging my speakers just to use the headphones.
how can i find my sound card make and model to try get an older driver
Plug your headphones into the front jack and try this:
– Click the speaker icon from the system tray and select Mixer
– Click the System Sounds button – Click the Playback tab
– You should see the Headphones device listed
– Right-click it and select Set as Default Device
Now see if your hear anything through your headphones. Also, don’t forget to change the default device back when you’re done
Most audio drivers come with a control pa app, If you check your system tray area you’ll probably find it, This issue is probably settings related, Just fiddle with it, Shouldn’t be hard to fix.
It could be Control Pa > Sound effects manager or something like that..
If you have on board sound, go to your mobo manufacturers website to get drivers.
I guess most of the pcs these days have front audio pins but those are sometimes not connected internally on the board like the cable is not connected on the board so just check your cabinet and see if the audio jack located at front has the cables plugged in to the board
