Keyboard / Synth players help please

Ok im completly new to keys and synths i play the guitar at the moment but have found it very limiting and are fairly bored of it i can read music but what i need to know is i’m hoping to learn to play the kind of keys / synth that bands use such a rolo tomassi and enter shikari. So what i really want to know is;
– what kind of keyboard / Synth do i want to get the sound i want but is a good starter ?
– Where do i start ? do i start learning traditional keyboard and then progress into synths and fancy keys ?
– Should i teach myself or get a tutor who understands the kind of music i want to play?
Any useful sugestions would be awesome any sarcastic stupid comments will be ignored thanks.

enter shikari used a microKorg i believe last time i saw them, dont know if they still use it. i had just bought one myself. i have no piano or keyboard experience, so im on my own for now, but im searching for piano/keyboard lesson videos and ebooks. find a synth you might want on samash or guitarcenter.com and type the name in on youtube and find videos of them in action. or better yet go down to a store and try them out yourself. goodluck .
