installing windows vista help!

hey guyz when ever i try to install vista @ the end it says
setup did not find any hard disk  drivees installed in your computer.
make sure any hard disk drives are powered on and properly connceted to your computer, and that any disk-related hardware configuration is correct. This may involve running a manufactuerer-supplied diagnostic or setup program.
setup connot continue. to quit setup, press f3

i have no idea what to do so plz can any1 help me plzzzz

It sounds like you need the driver for the hard disk controller or to make a change in the BIOS concerning the hard drive.
What brand computer do you have? Their website might help.

i have [hp pavilion dv6500]
i realy want to instal new windows vista beccouse my latop dosn’t open my OP only the mouse comes after the loading and no login system or anything.
plz try do somting if u can

Try upgrading instead of a fresh installation!

i get you but i cannot open windows my computer is stuffed its dosn’t open my OP it jsut locked up after loading logo

my laptop never had windows xp it alwayz had vista. even tho i install xp i still get the same problem:(

Well have you thought that maybe hard drive died on you? How about you get a live CD it doesnt matter which one whether its a XP Live CD or Linux Distro, see if you can run it and detect a hard drive. If it cant detect one then your HDD is dead.

lol you probably havent got the sata drivers integrated. Just go into the bios>>advanced options and enable IDE mode

i know its the sata but in my bois i dont have a option to change it.

i did check it but my laptop dosn’t have floppy disk drive so i cant do tht way.
edit: when i enter the BOIS and System Configuration . i dont get any option to Disable SATA Native Mode instead i only get
:language : english us
:button sound:enabled
:processor c4 state: enabled
and boot options:
