windows xp boot up problem

one of my computer having windows xp sp2 ,on boot up it shows blue screen.mouse is moving on the screen but left click or right click does not work or shown on the screen.In safe mode after loading some files it hangs.Hard disc is fine i have checked the hard disc with other computer making it secondary.
1.please provide me solution, this computer is having some specific setting of registry which i don’t know. For restoration i have to call some company person being a propritory software.
2.if it is not possible to restore how can i recover the data and setting from this hard disc and loaded again on fresh windows xp

Heya. This is called a Blue Screen. Often a BSOD. It basically needs reformatting is what I can gather. It is simple to do and I can help if you need it. If you have a spare computer plug the HDD into the CD IDE port. Then use an external HDD to backup the files.

i have already connected this hard disc with other computer and it shows as d drive now what i have to do for recovery and reinstallation
Remark:as you have suggested i have read it is not BSOD problem in my pc

There is a user called “SquirrelMan” in these forums. Find his profile and his Recovery packs show exactly what to do.

Boot up with your Windows XP OS CD and see if you can do an upgrade install or a repair install …….. all your stuff will be preserved.
