Paypal is DAMN lazy ! is it?

February 9th, 2020

My paypal account has been made limited on 16-Oct-2010. It required Photo id proof and address proof to remove the limitation. I uploaded all of them on 19-Oct-2010.
Today is 27-Oct-2010. It has been 8 days still “in process”. Why paypal taking so long to take decision ?

First Let me Ask u why ur Account was limited??
the reason they said is:-
16-Oct-2010: We've noticed some changes to your usual selling activities and will need some more information about your recent sales.
funny thing is that i have never sold anything in my life !! i always purchase things from ebay.
Answer #3
Lol , never happened with me,, Also i only purchase through ebay.. used a VCC to verify. thats it.
Answer #4
First Let me Ask u why ur Account was limited??Why his account was made limited is really his own business. Paypal have been known to shut down accounts for extended periods of time for no reason at all. Several examples can be found on Wikipedia.
At this point, the only thing you can probably do is wait it out. Conspiracy theorists (lol) believe that Paypal shuts down various accounts when they have a fairly big balance so they can steal the money or prevent withdrawals to allow the accumulation of interest.

In March 2010, Paypal froze donations to Cryptome, seizing over $5300 of in-transit donations.[67] PayPal refused to inform Cryptome of the reason for this action, claiming that to disclose why the donations had been confiscated would violate Cryptome’s own privacy.[68] A week later, PayPal offered an apology, which was rejected by Cryptome founder John Young as “insulting and unacceptable”.[69]
In September 2010, PayPal froze the account of Markus Persson, developer of independent video game Minecraft. His account contained around 600,000.[70][71]
Also in September 2010, PayPal froze the account of the open-source revision control software TortoiseSVN. The lead developer compared the situation to a car shop that “decides not to do business with you anymore. … But then the shop owner tells you that they keep your car for half a year first because that’s their policy.”[72]
In August 2010, PayPal froze the account of Eric Rosenberg, an Internet marketer from Mississippi. Court documents show that Rosenberg was told that he must seek a subpoena if he wanted to know why more than $50,000 was being held. Rosenberg filed a pro se lawsuit in Jackson County Mississippi Case No.: 002010-21382.
As for my opinion – I would say that most likely Paypal will return your account, so don’t worry too much. Just wait it out.

As said^ and there are many other examples,Paypal likes stealing people’s money.
The sad thing is that they usually get away with it because unlike a bank
they aren’t regulated and the average citizen can’t afford a legal battle.
Switch to a different payment processor (i suggest you go with moneybookers)
and consider yourself lucky! you only lost 50 buck,It could have been worse.

Actually paypal being based in Luxembourg means they are more heavily regulated than most other banks. As for moneybookers, Compred to paypal you might as well just give your money to a complete stranger, and ask them to give it back to you sometime.

Partially true,They’re only “heavily” regulated in Europe,Not in other countries!

What makes you say that?
Answer #19
Their email support is crap, you should call them up..

Now you admit they are heavily regulated yet you just stated “The sad thing is that they usually get away with it because unlike a bank they aren’t regulated”
They are actually regualated in every country even india.

Paypal has a great protection system in place to protect users. Moneybookers doesn’t. Pay for something using moneybookers and see what happens if there is a problem.

Now you admit they are heavily regulated yet you just stated "The sad thing is that they usually get away with it because unlike a bank they aren't regulated"

What i stated is still true (for this particular case at least as the OP is
from India) They’re only truly regulated in Europe
since they moved their European headquarters to Luxembourg
and opened a bank there,In non European countries Paypal
is not acknowledged as a bank and isn’t subjected
to the same kind of regulation so they can get away with alot
of things.
Paypal has a great protection system in place to protect users. Moneybookers doesn't. Pay for something using moneybookers and see what happens if there is a problem.

You may have a point there,Moneybookers is better for sellers
then buyers but as long as you do your research (check sellers
feedback) you should be fine,At least they wont steal your money
like Paypal.

You really have no idea what you are talking about do you? They are heavily regulated even in INDIA, In fact the restrictions were tightened even more earlier this year by the Reserve Bank of India. Those restrictions outwiegh the ones adhered to by most normal indian banks.

Well as a Business seller and a buyer using ebay (And other sites) for over 10 years, The only problems I’ve had with paypal were my own fault. When you say moneybookers is better for sellers, What you are really saying is that it’s easier to scam people using moneybookers as they offer users NO PROTECTION. And that in your opinion is better than paypal?
