you have to turn off sata in your bios and then install xp
cuz xp doesn’t have sata drivers on disk

or you can build custom xp installation of xp and
put sata driver in xp with nLite

Is it not an acer driver problem? Have a laptop and when i installed drivers of nvidea i got a blue screen. When i installed a special acer driver it works really good

0x7b errors are usually caused by improper ide/sata/raid drivers. Get the correct drivers and put them on a floppy. When you install xp you need to press F6 during install and choose the sata driver. If you haven’t got a floppy (which is probably the case ) you’ll have to slipstream the drivers in your xp disc (using nlite).
Media center and xp are in fact the same os, so that shouldn’t be causing the problem. if your media center was provided with your pc, then it probably already has the drivers slipstreamed
