Not Getting Full Internet Speed

August 4th, 2016

I have tested my internet connection speed and its around 1030kbs. When i download files using FlashGet the average speed when downloading one file is 165kbs to 198kbs. The highest i have ever seen it is 201kbs. If anyone could help it would be much appreciated.

and where do you download?
rapidshare, megaupload or somewhere else
some sites are just slow, because they have slow uploadspeeds
it just depends where you download

flashget measures speeds in kB (kilobytes/s) where as most speed testers measure speed in kb/s (kilobit/s). 1kB = 8kb
so 200kB/s ~= 1600kb/s
Answer #5
i change the connection type from 1M- 2M everything else was the same. it didnt make hardly any difference maybe 10kbs more but that about it
Answer #6
do you have any other software running that uses the internet maybe it’s slowing flashget down?
Answer #7
not that i know of. i even tried going into the firewall setting and blocking everything but flashget and its still the same speed
Answer #8
do oyu share your connection with someone through a router or something?
Answer #9

Answer #10
where would those results be from? Speedtest? If so then has the point. You should be getting around that mark you say
Answer #11
Sounds about right to me. If you actually download stuff at 1000+ kbps I would be impressed.

it says it in kilobits. You want kilobytes so you have to divide the result by 8. What you should be getting is about 216.25KB/s
