help with sharing a printer on a home network

1) all devices are wired
2) printer does not have an ethernet port
3) both computers have windows 7 on them
4) i have comcast and a multi function modem (internet wired and wireless) it is a technicolor TC8305C
if any other info is needed, pls ask, i will try to provide………i don’t know if its complicated when everything is wired, i think i saw somewhere u can create this scenario even if items are wired. thanks for your help and replys, pls be kind
oh, in case i didn’t mention it, the modem is a modem/router
There are two ways to go about it:
1. Free: Just share the printer of the network:

Basically it’d work like this: PC X (No printer) will send a printing order to PC Y (Printer) over the network. So it effectively means that the other person would only be able to print as long as your PC is turned on at the same time!
2. Paid: Get another router that supports USB printers, Such as this one:

Use it in conjunction with your current (And not as a replacement), More info here:

Basically, You’d be downgrading the current one into modem status and the new one would do most of the work. This would be needed as the current one is an AIO modem/router (with a coaxial cable input) while the new one would be a plain router (Without an integrated cable modem/coaxial input) Anyways, With this method, The other person would be able to print regardless to whether your PC is turned on or not at the time.
Either way, The printer itself would have to be turned on whenever one of you would like to print something.
Edit: Maybe I got a bit carried away with the “other person” bit of it, I guess this is quite amusing if you only wanna share it with your other PC and no one else is involved!
I think you can just set up a simple Homegroup between your computers and just tell it to allow printer sharing..
