Should i get Nvidia GTX 550 TI ?

January 24th, 2020

Ok so what do you bros think about my RIG? I’ve contacted the OC forum and they said i should get an HD7790. But instead i will get an GTX 550 TI.
System Specs : CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E5800 @ 3.6GHz OC GPU: Gainward 430 GT 1GB DDR3 RAM: 4GB DDR3 1333MHz PSU: HKC Ulta Silent Power 7600 @600W HDD1: Hitachi 7200RPM 160GB 3GB/s (i keep my Windows and games here)
HDD2: Western Digital 7200RPM 160GB 1.5GB/s (keep videos and stuff cuz it’s slow)
MOBO: BIOSTAR G41D3X
OS: Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 x64
Screen : 19” HD LCD @1440x900p
Guys at OC said that if i get the new card it will bottleneck with my CPU but overclocking it a bit should ease the pain.
Also it would bottleneck in higher res like 1920x1080p, but fortunally my LCD supports max to 1440×900 so i should be fine.
I should get a great FPS increase in gaming even through a slight performance loss
I’m planning on running Batman Arkham Origins @ High without AA and other games at High like BF4, AC4 etc…
For the moment with the new 550TI, can i play BF3 @ Ultra without MSAA and AA? I saw benchmarks on YouTube running Ultra with 4xMSAA and 16xAA without any problem.

Answer #1
I’d wait for the next pricecut.
Answer #2
Hmm it seems a bit underpowered for BF4 (both in terms of CPU and GPU)
with that said however, I have yet to see the performance of the release version of Battlefield 4.
Answer #3
Browse the second hand market, tonnes of bargains.
Answer #4
Why don’t you go with what they said on Oc forum and get the HD7790? The pc is pretty average
Answer #5
If i were you i would rather get new cpu than gpu.
