Can not connect to via RDP

February 5th, 2020

Ok, I’ve got one computer on my network that I can NOT for the life of me connect to via RDP.
I can connect to any other machine by fowarding port 3389 to it from the router via RDP.
I can also connect to this same computer from anywhere within my LAN.
However I forward port 3389 and try and login via RDP from outside the LAN and can NOT……..
I can login via RDP from within the LAN to this one machine and can NOT ourside the LAN….Any help would be very much appreciated.
The machine thats being difficult is running Win 7 Ultimate with SP1 installed and all up to date when it comes to Windows 7.
Has 8GB of DDR2 RAM.
Two GB Ethernet Ports, I’ve tried on both ports.

If it works from within the LAN, but not from outside, the issue is at the router. Make sure the port forwarding is configured properly, and router/computer reset if necessary.
PS: Also, make sure any firewall’s are turned off, as they may have some old/cached settings; at least while diagnosing.

Well obvious things first what are you typing in on the remote network ??? Do you even have dynamic dns setup ?
