Is it possible to connect Ext.HD to TV

August 5th, 2016

Hello,
I have a movie collection of about 1000 movies and it is eatting through the space on my computer. They are all MKV by the way. Now I am wondering if it is possible to get an external HD that can somehow play movies on my TV but also be playing the MKV format. Please give some information haha

Answer #1
Western Digital WD TV Live Media Player , Xtreamer Mediaplayer , Asus O!Play HDP-R1,…
Those play mkv and many other formats. Price will be around 100 without a harddrive. You can only put an harddrive in the Xtreamer Mediaplayer. But you can play the movies with a stick or something else that has an usb connection.

Get/Make a NAS and stream to a PS3/360 or whatever.
With 1TB drives at 60 euro arrays make sense.
