cut a large avi file into 2 seperate files

January 23rd, 2020

Hey guys
I have a bunch of avi movies which i want to play on my xbox360. Problem is they are huge over 4gb and wont copy to my fat32 flash drive. I did format it to ntfs but then the xbox wont recognise it! so basically me solution was to split the large avi into 2 files and transfer them and play it that way. Ive tried hj splitter but i can only get one of the files to play on the xbox. I tried wondershare video editor but i cant get that to do what i want it to either. I tried virtual dub but just got some codec error message so ultimately im pulling my hair out in frustration over what im sure is such a simple problem. Can anyone offer a simple program that will let me cut a large avi into 2 playable files that i can transfer onto the flash drive and play on the xbox360?
Thanks

virtualdub you did not select direct stream copy before you saved the avi = video menu, direct stream copy. bcus you only want to split it rather than encode it.
ensure that for the 2nd selection section you have the start marker set to a keyframe using shift + right arrow or shift + left. that will ensure that it plays correctly
