Shazam at the movies?

August 7th, 2016

Hey guys, just noticed this option within the Shazam app (the app that identifies music) and of course, common sense would tell you that if you select this option and then open Shazam during a movie you’re not familiar with, it would identify it for you…. well, I’ve done just that and nothing comes up. I’ve email Shazam support as well as visited their FAQ page and get nothing, not even on their PLAY store page….. so I was hoping maybe one of you guys were familiar with this function and could fill me in… thanks for any and all help!

I guess you only read the title of my thread and not the actual question…
Shazam HAS an option within their app, in the settings, that says, “Shazam at the movies.” Next to this statement is a little box, you can choose to click the box and put a check mark in it (essentially turning this feature on) or leave it unchecked (keeping it off). My question is…. WHAT IS THIS FEATURE?????
Common sense would tell you that this feature being activated would allow you to turn Shazam on during a movie you don’t recognize and it would identify the movie in the same fashion as it identifies music. Well, I’ve had this feature turned on for the last 2 months and have used it during every movie I see, just to test it and see if this is actually what the feature is and it hasn’t ONCE identified a movie, only music. I have Googled this feature, emailed Shazam support, gone to the Shazam FAQ page and made this thread and I’m still just as clueless as I was the day I saw this feature added to the app. I am NOT looking for an app that works like Shazam, but for movies or tv…. I am asking what this feature is WITHIN Shazam.
