Gateway m-1622 Bios Corrupted

August 6th, 2016

At Boot Options i only find out some non-sense characters, no options as it was before.
I contacted an IT and he said I need to download original file of Bios but i cant find anything specific!
What should I do?

Answer #1
You should take out the battery and let the bios reset its “short term” memory.

Already tried, not worked
The IT I asked, he said you need to find a file that is around 1-2mb, tried to use internet but found nothing useful. BIOS File!
Answer #3
Taking out the battery resets bios to original.. As stated. Its a small say watch sized battery… Can be located in different points on your mobo so do some research to find where on yours it is.. From there it may have to be updated and not work (boot to windows).. (but wont have random symbols..)…
(Also updating a corrupt mobo file can be worse then it was to begin with.. Get it back to basics, and if needed update…)
Answer #4
Will it boot up to Windows?…If not ,then you are probably stuffed..
But if you can, then I found a bios file here..
http://panam.gateway.com/support/drivers/getFile.asp?id=21980&dscr=BIOS%20flash%20Version%209D.05%2005/23/2008&uid=463418029
Click where it says ‘Download Now’ (in red), then it should eventually download.
It’s a self extracting .exe file (9539754.exe) so, first off, you can use winrar/winzip to extract it so you can read the ‘read_me.txt’ file which is actually in English!
