Divx and xvid

Hi , can any one tell why all movies uploaded are in xvid , when most stand alone dvd players play mainly divx.
So if i purchasedf a two year old dvd divx player from ebay or a new divx player , would it play xvid ….cheerz

cause xvid is somewhat better + open source
and most modern players can play divx + xvid, but you’ll have to check the speqs to be sure

both of them are the same xvid plays on divx players like zikko said xvid is free

DivX is not allowed per scene standards.

I guess it has to say xvid, otherwise it wont work, or maybe just a few videos, not all.
Xvid is better in my eyes, like besides quality divx always Made problems when fast forwarding, went all too fast all of a sudden, and video audio was not synchron. Im just trying to say, when you convert, forget divx.
My experience is that the cheapest dvd players played everything while more expensive ones did not.

Why would you want to buy a player that you have to keep buying and burning discs, when you can buy a media player ?

I did that once on a clan forum, went to last page and replied to first thread, and two or three guys replied and did not notice. Then original poster went like WTF, post was three years old lol
