thx
on the other note…i did buy a computer with vista on it but it wont let me install xp on it after i format it, doesnt recognize the harddrive..im thinkin it has something to do with SATA drivers…does anybody know of a workaround i have my own copy of xp from MSDN that is legit…thx
I think u can check in DELL online store for a Cheap one with (XP).
For installing after removing vista(properly),have a look on this
http://www.pctipsbox.com/how-to-remove-vista-or-install-xp/
thx for the help apperciated…but the only problems are a) i dont want a dell, just a preference and b) i dont have a floppy drive to put the SATA drivers in
you know, now the stores put vista on all the computers and laptops so that XP becomes old and everyone starts useing vista,
thats their plan to make more money cos vista costs more
have you tried putting SATA drivers for your computer onto a floppy disk and pressing F6 when its prompts at the start of the XP installation?
yea i dont have a floppy disk reader on my laptop and dont wanna buy a external one..i know its a complicated question but im appreciate the help..lol
The only way i can see the drivers getting installed during the XP installation (without the floppy) is making an ISO of your legit disk and using Nlite to integrate the drivers in it.

Download and Tutorials are at the URL above, its FreeWare.
You could also imbed your Cd-key into the ISO so once you burn the copy you don’t have to enter it.
…And as to your buying a new PC with xp instead of Vista… You will either need to get a NO OS system and install it yourself, goto an e-tailor like TigerDirect and look at “Build to Order” laptops, or goto an in-town PC shop.

They make laptops to your choosen specs and you can choose Xp and Vista, but ovbiously you have to be from the UK if your ordering from there and i don’t know where you are from lol.
Sometimes you can get away with putting your SATA drivers on a USB stick (if you don’t have a floppy). It worked for me when the floppy in my PC died.
Unfortunately a lot of name-brand laptops come pre-installed with Vista, when you’d get better performance with XP. The trouble is, not all manufacturers release drivers if you want to downgrade to XP.
There have been quite a few post in ‘Help Desk’ regarding people having trouble getting their ‘new’ laptop to run XP. It does suck.
never tried the usb stick idea but ill give it a shot..thx
