Xbox 360 resolution issue
January 23rd, 2020
Experiencing some resolution issue on my xbox 360. Read on….
1) Bought Samsung SyncMaster 920NW 19″ (Resolution – 1440×900) widescreen monitor for my 360
2) Bought Xbox 360 HD AV Cable for connecting my 360 to monitor.
3) Connected the xbox 360 to monitor
4) Set 360 resolution to 1366×768.
5) Inserts the game ‘Forza Motorsport 2’.
6) When console goes in-game, resolution automatically changes to 1027×768.
My question is, why does the resolution changes automatically? Is this normal or an issue?
Well, from what I understand 1440×900 resolution is VERY odd, ive never seen such a weird resolution.
I think it changes to lower to make the xbox more comfortable with the TV.
EDIT: I think its because the 768 pixels makes it much worse with your resolution you try, so it defaults it to 1028 to make it comfortable.
EDIT2: http://hd1080i.blogspot.com/2006/12/1080i-on-1366x768-resolution-problems.html
“If you own a 1366 x 768 display then your image has been mashed about and re-scaled to fit your screen. Period. Meaning: you will not ever get a pixel for pixel rendering of anything coming into your display, so all this talk of “pristine 720p” from my 720p plasma display is bunk usually unless your display has an exact 1280 mode. Its no longer the video frame that the producer saw. Instead you actually are seeing an upscaled version created by the pixel scaler firmware with quality that the display manufacturer wanted to put into the HDTV.”
Hope I helped

1440×900 is a standard 16:10 19″ monitor resolution.
When the update comes out on 19th November, you will be able to set screen resolution to 1400×900.
