Windows 8 lock screen manual only

January 30th, 2020

I’ve google the hell out of this and can’t find a solution.
Basically, right now i want my computer to be on for a long time including its screen. I’ve changed the power settings to “never” so the pc doesnt go to sleep nor does the screen go off. I also have no screen saver. However, after ~20 minutes, the lock screen shows up. Though I dont mind this feature, right now I want it to be manual only – that is, only when i press the win + r (the screen itself is not important, the password feature is).
Is there a way to do this?

Go to power option and click on “Change Plan Setting” Then click “Change advanced power setting”. Now go through every option and set it to either never or 0. Click OK when done.
On Turn off the display setting. Change it to 1 mins then change back to Never and click save changes.
