Windows 7 Restarts after login (SOLVED)
August 22nd, 2018
Tryed Registry Clean, HardDrive Checks and figured its gotta be Software Related
After bringing it home i tryed swapping parts, after swapping HDD with my own it booted in Nice and stayed logged in.
Im trying not to Reinstall OS until i’m definately certain thats what it needs and going through drivers reinstalls and so on so on
Makes it that more annoying when the client says *I cant remember what i did before this happened*
Thanks in Advance for all your Help
as ya said it could be a hardrive fail in itself but if as the last resort try the reinstall and see does that fix it if it doesnt then ya were right about the HD
Check eventvwr(in run dialog) for error informations and paste the content here.
Check for bad sectors…
I don’t think its hardware related based on your post, when in safe mode uninstall the AV and then try rebooting into normal mode(whilst disconnected from net preferably).
Edit: I say this because it is the most likely cause of a software issue, if the system runs fine then it will be because of a clash with AV and something else (admittedly the something else could be the main culprit), but there are known issues with AV’s and programs ( I had an issue with ESET and Windowblinds, solved, but don’t use Windowblinds now anyway despite solving issue)
I like the idea of checking for bad sectors on the HDD. Information from the event viewer could be helpful as well. I hope I don’t get savaged for this suggestion, but I had that problem too a few years ago and it was my power supply. I could run for a while and then randomly it would restart. It was a puzzler in the beginning, but the time I could run normally became smaller and smaller. I finally figured it out. Good Luck.
If this is an hard disk’s sector fault there should be a blue screen before restarting. If there isn’t then it could be an hardware fault, like power supply, a faulty motherboard and so on. Check the logs in eventvwr if they are clean then it could be an hardware’s fault.
A bad sector can crash Windows anytime..As long as Windows is not reading from the bad sector(s)..Everything is fine..As soon as it tries to retrieve data from a bad sector…Boooom..
Thanks all for your suggestions..Turns out it was Power Supply and HDD issues.
.Thanks Again
