Windows 7 Question ?

August 7th, 2016

I have a hp laptop that I don’t use with Windows XP SP3 & about 1GB of ram.
Is that enough ram to run windows 7 ? Please get back at me. Thank you all.

Answer #1
Yes it is,that how i got on one of computers, but your performance will not be great because recommended ram is 2gb.
Answer #2
But will the performance be really bad ? Like would i be able to do my normal day to day things like listen to music, search the web, instant messanger and stuff like that?
Answer #3
It will run smoothly on a 1GB. I’m on an HP laptop using win7 and it’s running with no problems. Go for it.
Answer #4
Okey mate thanks for the replies I was just worried because i had vista ultimate on it and it was kinda laggy =/.
Hopefully Win 7 won’t be
Answer #5
Windows 7 is way better than Vista. When i say performance i mean performance in games.
Answer #6
Does it have a single CPU or is it dual core? Why cant you upgrade to 2GB of RAM? Windows 7 will run with 1GB of RAM but you will be limited to running few things at sametime. The more ram you have the more things you can run at sametime. Also if you have single CPU ehh speeds could be pretty slow compared to XP. With your specs i would suggest sticking with XP or try Tiny 7. You can obtain Tiny 7 from my siggy, its a modified version of Ultimate 7 and lots of stuff got taken out so when you fresh install it idles at 185MB of RAM usage, then it starts to climb up as you install more stuff.
