Windows 7 question

hi
can i install windows 7 on my Sony VGN-CS16G (32-bit) ??
2GB RAM
250GB Hardrive
Processor: 2.26GHz
256mb Nvidia Graphics Card (i think)
currently running Vista Home Premium
if so then which edition do you recommend me install?
Starter
Home Basic
Home Premium
Professional
Enterprise
Ultimate
also, will it stuff up my laptop if i install it wrong or dont have minimum requirements? because im pretty bad with all this computer system stuff

If you are running vista now, you will also be able to run w7.
I have w7 ultimate. But don’t really know the differences between them
