Windows 7 – No sound in headphones

August 5th, 2016

Hi all,
Have this particular issue:
Am using Windows 7 (32 bit) BETA and dual-booting with Linux and XP…
Issue is that there’s no sound in my headphones but the sound is great from my speakers in Windows 7…..
The headphones works great in XP and Linux Mint !!!!! It even worked well in Vista !!!!
My mobo is Intel 946GZIS…
Onboard audio is Sigmatel….
Any suggestions ???? Tried a couple of drivers from the net, but it then showed that no audio driver is installed…. had to revert back to the generic drivers provided in Windows 7 (M$ High Definition Audio)….
Would appreciate any input here …..

Answer #1
anyone??? Really need the Front panel audio jacks to work….
Answer #2
You need Windows 7 drivers for your Sigmatel device. If the manufacturer doesn’t have the drivers then try installing Vista drivers.
Answer #3
hey, finally got it to work….. Installed new drivers i found on the intel site … Now all i have to do is choose the sound output (Headphones or Speakers) from my sound control and set it to default and it works in that mode
Thnx
