Windows 7 join a domain without password

February 15th, 2014

Hi all,
I have a windows system which is part of a domain.
but i want to reinstall it, so I have admin account.
How do I join back to the domain afterwards?
Can I simply save some ‘relavant file’ and then overwrite it after a fresh install?
THANKS!!!!

Windows Vault only stores credentials that you have in the first place.
Re-joining a domain requires Domain Admin privileges.
ghostyc if you are attempting this at school, or even worse, at work, forget about it. It won’t work and you will get caught.

No, you will need domain admin rights, the computer needs to be added to the domain controller. There is no “file” on your computer. The data is on the domain controller.
If you just want admin rights, you can just reset the local administrator password with some tools from Hiren’s Boot CD for example.

I have admin right on the computer already (hacked it using some tool).
But then I need to join the domain to use the “free” printer…
Sorted out another way.
But still Thanks!
