Windows 7 help.

August 21st, 2013

I can’t instal windows 7 on my computer. On laptop it all went smooth, i instaled it from 1. time, but on my computer, agh, seems imposible. I rw 4 dvd’s, tryed to instal from HDD, nothing.
Anyway problem is that Windows 7 instalation stops after 1. restart during instalation.
I started to think problem is hardware. Here is my configuration.
Computer:
AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual
Core Processor 4400+
2.31Ghz, 3.25GB of ram
NVIDIA GeForce 9500 GT graphic card
DMX 6 fire soundcard
Motherboard: Gigabyte S-series (not shure about exact motherboard name. It is PATA sticks, not SATA, so i guess its a bit old)
Anyone know any solution?

Answer #1
After restart? What did you do?
Answer #2
What do you mean?
It needs to restart during instalation, but when it comes back up to finish instal it stops.
Answer #3
Try testing your hard disks for defects, using some boot CD like Hiren’s
Answer #4
Well I reinstaled Windows XP, tryed on fresh HD and again nothing, so i am just now sticking on XP. It all works great with XP. I even tryed 2 diferent w7 torrents.
Answer #5
Try doing: Start -> Run -> cmd
Then when at the command prompt enter: “chkdsk /r /f”
Without the quotes ofc. My guess is that it’ll find some bad sectors

Are you sure it stops?…..i thought mine was but it took over an hour to finish……as long as the little dots after “finishing installation” are moving i think its good……
Answer #7
Mouse pointer after restart is a cycle that is animated, but it stops, animation of a cycle stops and i can’t move mouse. I am shure it blocks. I supouse cycle pointer means windows instalation is loading to finish instal.
Answer #8
I dont remember what my mouse did, but i know it sat there so long i assumed it blocked and aborted to try it again, 2 more times…….the last time i just went to bed and when i checked in the morning it was on (dont know how long it took but well over a hour)….and the Windows 7 upgrade advisor

It goes like this:
BLUE SCREEN:
A problem has been detected and winsows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer
IEQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL
Check to make sure any new hardware or software is properly installed. If this is a new installation, ask your hardware of software manufacturrer…..
If problem continues, disable or remove any newly installed hardware or software. Disable BIOS memory options such as cacching or shadowing. If you need to use safe mode…..

Answer #12
let windows update while installation
reformat hdd & install
Answer #13
Try installing Windows with least possible hardwares installed.
Answer #14
Tryed with clean windows xp without any instaled hardware. Nothing. As i googled it seems problem is somewhere in hardware and i am not the only one. More people has the same problem. I bought new HD, can’t instal again. Cleaned procesor a bit, memory, tryed without sound card, nothing. So i just gave up. I think it’s about motherboard, doubt it’s bad memory. Tryed with 1 socketed memory only (got 3 memory socketed) nothing again.
Answer #15
Try changing your bios settings to boot from dvd first
