Windows 7 folder sorting help!

say, i hv a folder and in it 10 sub folders of pictures
i want to sort the sub folders in alphabetical order
but the photos in them by date edited
it’s impossible
whenever i press sort by>name or sort by>date, the entire folder, everything will be sort in the same way, it’s so fking stupid!!!!
this is what makes me hate Microsoft sometimes, eliminating a perfect function from XP and replace it with an absolutely senseless one!!!
is there a way around this?

The trick is to start at the files in the sub folders and work your way up. That way, the settings within sticks.
Sort the photos by date edited. Then, go to Tools, folder options. Select the view tab. Click apply to folders, click apply, the click OK. Now, go the directory where the folders are and sort them by alphabetical order. Then, go to Tools, foldes options. Select the view tab. Click apply to folders, click apply, the click OK.
