Windows 7 64-bit codec pack help

August 9th, 2013

Hey guys,
Just got a new laptop, and I need a codec pack to be able to watch my anime on again!
I have used the K-Lite Codec packs for years, ever since I had my XP desktop. I am wondering if this codec pack is good still? I am looking at this download:
http://www.codecguide.com/klcp_64bit.htm
I just want to be sure I am getting the best available for what I’ll be doing. Most of my anime, if not all (short of Bleach), is in mkv format.
Also, just want to ensure I am downloading the right pack.
Thanks guys!

K-Lite is good, what media player are you using?
Answer #2
None at the moment, but I always liked using Media Player Classic that came accompanied with it. Is there a better one?

I am sorry to double-post, but I read on that page that it recommends the 32-bit package in addition to this one. Should I get the Mega version? I remember one time when I got a K-Lite codec pack on my vista, it made it go awol and blue-screened on me constantly! I just don’t want a repeat
Answer #4
just use “the kmplayer” or “daum potplayer”
no need for codecs bro
Answer #5
"daum potplayer"
this is the best current “all-in-one” (will play all right out of the box) player ATM IMO
Answer #6
Use VLC or Kmplayer the best I’ve used so far.

No need for codec packs. Just get ffdshow tryout and Haali’s Matroska splitter. That will play most of the stuff that you will find on this forum with the exception of Quicktime and Realmedia, although there is partial support for some QT and RM formats. RM audio wasn’t supported which made it incomplete the last time I tried it with RM.
Get the build (x86/x64) to match your Directshow media player. Or use Potplayer or KMPlayer

K-Lite Codec pack with Media Player Classic is all you need. It’s still one of the best out there, and no problems reading anything.
Answer #11
