Suggest codec-pack that is equivalent to ‘K-Lite Mega’

August 4th, 2016

I used to install “K-Lite Mega Codec Pack”. http://www.codecguide.com/features_mega.htm
However, I just went to look for an update. I discovered that they no longer include “QuickTime Alternative” support. They got sued by Apple or something.
Do you guys know of any alternative?
The alternative should be just as detailed as “K-Lite Mega” was.
Please make suggestions.

Answer #1
gspot downloads them as you need them.
Answer #2
Or just use GOM player or VLC player, no codec packs needed at all.
Answer #3
I strongly suggest using the CCCP, Combined Community Codec Pack. A bunch of geeks got sickened with all the crappy codec packs and actually designed a good codec pack.

The CCCP (Combined Community Codec Pack) is a DirectShow filter pack specifically built for playing anime. It has been assembled by some of the most knowledgeable people in online anime distribution, and one of the primary design goals is to play as much as possible with as little as possible. The CCCP attempts to be as unintrusive on your system as possible
“specifically designed for playing anime.”
Other codec packs like K-Lite are excellent for general PC usage.
If K-Lite are not supporting Quicktime due to legal issues then other codec packers will ditch it since they don’t want that sort of thing happening to them. Best to download a copy of Quicktime and install that.
Thanks for this post, I really appreciate it since I use K-Lite and didn’t know about the Quicktime issue. I think you have done us all a really good favour here !!

Answer #5
just install K-Lite, then install Quicktime Alternative seperately:
