Will games run in Windows 7 RC 7100 and above?

August 6th, 2016

I’m running build 7057 right now, and none of my games work. If most programs and games are supported in RC 7100 and above, I would ditch vista entirely for it.

bumping this as well.. i want to know what the most stable version of 7 is for gaming (cod4, gta iv, crysis, etc) also, installing 7xxx version will it be able to update to the RTM w/out a reinstall?
Answer #2
TheDa said he has tested many games on Windows 7 and said he didnt found one that would not work, so they should work. It will depend on your hardware too if your computer cant handle games then it wont matter what OS you choose.
You should wait for the RTM its coming out soon.
Answer #3
Cod4 works on the 7100 RC, even punkbuster works as well.
Answer #4
I have been using Windows 7 RC for a couple of days now. Everything runs flawlessly. Its very responsive too but I think you will be able to upgrade to RTM as it is possible now to upgrade to a newer build.
Answer #5
Watch the calendar. The RC will expire on June 1, 2010. Starting on March 1, 2010, your PC will begin shutting down every two hours. Windows will notify you two weeks before the bi-hourly shutdowns start. To avoid interruption, you’ll need to install a non-expired version of Windows before March 1, 2010. You’ll also need to install the programs and data that you want to use. (Learn more about installing Windows.) huh???
Answer #6
about the games, I’m running the RC version and sims3, CSS, and FSX are working fine for me. It’s worth a shot.(although FSX crashes sometimes)

The beta expires on july 2009. You got one month ahead of you
Answer #9
RC Expires next year (2010) Beta expires in one month, but hasn’t expire yet.

I’ve tried CoD4 & wow. both worked well, but since I didn’t had some drivers the performances in XP where equal/better. though more & more drivers are coming out, so it shouldn’t be that much of a problem any more.
Answer #11
some games should be installed and/or run in compatibility mode, but i’ve yet to come across one that doesn’t work. i just installed gtaiv in 7229 and it works flawlessly…

It will depend on your hardware too if your computer cant handle games then it wont matter what OS you chooseYep everything that works on Vista works on Windows 7. Even GTAIV the game that people couldn’t get to run on 7 I managed to dunno I didn’t do anything special. Currently running 7201. 7229 is out I would get that instead there’s a few bugs with explorer in the 7201. 7137 doesn’t have any bugs. It’s the best version I’ve tried so far.

how can i crack build 7057 so that it wont expire ever? also, how do i remove the version watermark?
Answer #14
why would you want to use a pre-RTM build forever? it doesn’t expire till next spring, and by then the retail version will be cracked.
you can remove the watermark by searching “remove watermark windows 7” in google…

since im using a pre rtm, and pre 7100, it will expire at the end of july, correct?
Answer #16
Dude, just wait for the RTM to get cracked. It won’t take long here on and it’ll be cracked so, it’s not a smart decision to stay on the beta version while the RTM is out there. And RC version expires on July 2010 , Beta version(s) expire on march 1st. Actually that’s when they start shutting down every 2 hours and that’s gonna be a pain in the ass so I don’t think anyone’s gonna be keeping it.
Answer #17
oh you’re even pre RC1. hrmm.
why not upgrade then? there are lots of builds out there…
