Wii Mod Chipping

August 5th, 2016

I got a wii yesterday, and wanted to chip it to enjoy the games here on wbb. Just a few questions though, which chip would be the best? And also will i still be able to go online. Let me expand;
I have a legal copy of mario kart. If i chip the console, could i still play the legal copy of mario kart online with no problems? Say for example, could i switch the chip off? Any help would be much appreciated
Thanks,

HI
If your gonna look at chippin ya wii then you need to be sure of the version you have ie d2A, 2dB,d2C,d2E . Although if youve just bought it new then i suggest it would be a d2c or even d2e..
Rather than bugger around with it i would suggest using the guy’s i have sent you in your PM.. They are first rate, very good service, fast turn around, and i have recommeded a number of people to these, and all were very happy indeed..
See ya PM
Regarding once chipped then playing OFFICIAL games is no problems, and i would recommend updating online only from the unit offiically. Although i must say i have never played these online . Perhaps others have.
Never from games unless you can be certain 100% they are PAL format..
The chip is not detectable.. Never update the firmware from a NON PAL unit (Providiing yours if of course PAL in the first place), but i would suggest it would be. If you do play for example NTSC games and you update you wii with the update on the game , can you could BRICK your wii and then its goodbye, although i believe that the BRICK can be removed with a PAL version on the game (Although never gone down that route) Best to stay away…
Hope this helps

I have installed two wasabi chips, and like them quite a bit.

I recently installed a D2PRO9 presoldered onto a Wiiclip, was perfect for me because I’m rubbish at soldering. All the installation needed was unscrewing the wii and clipping the chip to it. I can send you a link to the website where I purchased mine if you like
As for playing official games, I’ve played my official Mario Kart fine aswell as “backup” versions of Bully and Guitar Hero. Just waiting for my DVD-R’s to arrive before I get some more games!

Get the Wasabi, you won’t regret it.

Hi Guys just instaled a d2cpro solderless version, have used a number of iso files burned with ImgBurn 2.4.2.0 and all is working great, no problems so far. I was so easy to install and the instructions were so easy to follow.
I Would recomend to anyone to give it a go, you wont regret it.
PS do check which chipset is on your drive though, and do get the corect screwdriver to open the wii, i moded one to work and it took ages to get it to fit.
