Answer #1
It will also depend on whether your power supply will have enough juice to power it.
What’s your budget ? Are you going to be gaming ?
What is the make / model of your mobo and psu ?
Answer #2
8400GS really sucks. so whats your budget? if u go around 50$ – 60$ then go 9500GT 1GB DDR3 . performance so good.
Answer #3
@the Meerkat I don’t know how to check It “P

check the sticker on the psu, you will probably have to open the pc
*Edit 4000 Rupees = $75

Mate if you Invest more Money U get More Powerful Card. but Money is the factor for GPU Purpose. I Am using 9500GT Card. BF3 Play High Setting And MW3 Play Ultra Setting , Batman Also Played Highest Setting. I am Satisfied with this Card.
Answer #15
9500gt
i once had that card and it’s the best bang for the buck pal
Answer #16
GTX 590 is around $500 with is about $26,444 Rupees.
To power (with a 800w PSU), you need at least need around $150 which is about 8000 Rupees.
The important thing is, what power supply are you running on? The only way to check is to open up your case and look at the wattage of the power supply.
Answer #17
HD 5670 1GB GDDR5 4175
http://www.lynx-india.com/index.php?productID=15768
PS: Make sure you get the DDR5 one and NOT the DDR3 one!
If you wish to buy a Graphics card then consult the chart below and try to buy a card as high in the chart as possible by your budget. Before you buy a new card, make sure that your case and power supply can accommodate it.

If the above chart is NOT showing then kindly use the link below

Also make sure your drivers are updated to the latest version.
You can also try using softwares Like Game Booster.

You can get 9500 GT for 3200 BUT it is a very weak card and you would struggle in most games. Kindly check the chart posted above to see where it stands. The best you can get for your price range is HD 5670 1GB GDDR5 4175
http://www.lynx-india.com/index.php?productID=15768
It will cost you 1000 more than 9500 GT, but since you said 3000-4000 it is almost in your range.
PS: Make sure you get the DDR5 one and NOT the DDR3 one!
Since you’re an Indian, you would understand this proverb,
मेहंगा रोए एक बार, सस्ता रोए बार-बार!
Answer #21
Alright, now, first of all, OP is correct as most games totally don’t load the CPU as they used to in the past. My i7 never ever gets stressed even by the most demanding games nowadays simply because they use the GPU more and the CPU less.
Having said that, if he wants the absolute best, he should go for 2xGTX580. Seriously, GTX590 is just a pair of GTX580 chips, downclocked and in pseudo-SLI configuration. 2xGTX580 with 3GB DDR5 each will blow the fish out of the water and will be pretty much future-proof. Now sure he can go for a 3xSLI configuration, but this will be a massive overkill as even if speed-wise his cards will be way ahead of everything else, new chips will be released with new instruction sets and new games will demand those instruction sets to be present, so building a totally future-proof system is not really possible.
TL;DR - 2xGTX580 in SLI with 3GB of DDR5 each will be best. Sure, he will also need at least 1000Watts or more PSU. I would suggest he gets a Corsair PSU because if something happens with such powerful hardware, if the PSU is an overpowered piece of junk, his entire system may die.
Answer #22
The card that Shah_Jahan recommends would be a good choice for you..!
Answer #23
go for Msi 560 ti Hawk………………
Answer #24
@Shah_Jahan i understood the th9g u r saying now i hav a anothr question y r u again n again saying to get only “ddr5” not ddr3 wt is the story behind this ???
Answer #25
TOM R!ddle replied: @Shah_Jahan i understood the th9g u r saying now i hav a anothr question y r u again n again saying to get only "ddr5" not ddr3 wt is the story behind this ???
Because GDDR5 is faster than DDR3
If you want a DDR3 version of the card, then you can get it cheaper for 3940
http://www.lynx-india.com/index.php?productID=15106
But this meager difference of 235 is not worth the degraded performance.
Once again the proverb, मेहंगा रोए एक बार, सस्ता रोए बार-बार!
Answer #26
Bro I suggest If you Buy DDR5 then GO Nvidia. Choice is yours. best of Luck.

You cant!
xp sp3 isn’t supported.
you have E 4600@ 2.40 GHz where as you need 3.0 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo or AMD Equivalent
And 9500 GT and HD 5670 both are BELOW the minimum specification for NFS:Run

Answer #34
serious dude!!! i had 8800gtx !!! ANd trust me it beats the crap out of 9500gt performance wise but my FPS in BF3 was around 10-15 on everything VERY low. I know i was playing on 1920×1080. i could have tuned down resolution to increase the perfomrance easy but still no way i could have played at high settings without going below 30fps.
I got a 6850 just for that reason i needed to enjoy the dx11. maybe your 9500gt is superawesome or something.. lol!!!!
And Tom Riddle since your in India and don’t want a new PC!! What i suggest is get a bigger Used Card!! But i am pretty certain that your power supply won’t have enough juice to supply any big card.

If you wish to buy a used card then I found a few options for you on eBay:
MSI Raedon HD 4670 1GB DDR3 for 2,650
http://www.ebay.in/itm/MSI-R4670-Graphic-card-/320820061773?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_203&hash=item4ab25da64d
XFX Nvidia GeForce 9500 GT 1GB DDR2 for 2,500
http://www.ebay.in/itm/XFX-Nvidia-GeForce-9500-GT-1GB-DDR2-/320819096990?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_203&hash=item4ab24eed9e
XFX Geforce 8600GT 1GB DDR3 PRO Series for 2,700

If I were you, I’d buy HD 4670
Please bear in mind that ALL of these cards are slower then the one I recommended – HD 5670. The only reason I posted these was because they were cheaper and you might be interested.
There were more cards, but they were either way beyond your budget or way too slow to worth owning. Still, if you are interested then you can take a look at them here:
