Where Google Chrome Saves Password
January 22nd, 2020
I use Google Chrome. Whenever I visit , I get automatically signed in, which is cool. I wonder how I can retrieve the password stored in it.
I know that Chrome offers an option to view the saved passwords: when I go there (wrench>options>…), I cannot see any password saved there. Furthermore, I have used SQLite editor (Sqlite Database Browser) to view the contents of this login database file: ‘Login Data’
C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Local Settings\Application Data\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default
C:\Users\<username>\Appdata\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default
But without success. The question is: where has Chrome stored the password that I cannot find? My point is not exactly to get the password, I remember that. Thanks in advance.
Just use this app:

Thanks, but I have already tried that: it doesn’t show anything.

Thanks, but as I have already mentioned it in my post, it is with no success.
Go on the little tool on the right of the website name. Click preferences( ⌘, ) then personnal data ( should be the middle icon) and then there’s passwords and it’s written: show the ….
Sorry, mine is in french so i tried to translate it how I could
I could save the hiden password in Chrome and when I click at Show saved password: the username appears with ********. How can I unhide the password? The program Asterisk Key couldnt do it. ChromePass too shows only the asterisks.
Try uninstall chrome completely, once it happened to me, I just used built-in chrome tab to clean the cookies, cache, etc. It worked.
