Why the prices vary from $60 to $1000?

I had a friend about 7 years ago use one as a computer “monitor”.. Would have been about 400-500$ back then so not the best, and I was highly surprised about how well it worked, with the exception of having to use it in the dark.. Could read documents or news in browsers, as well as good quality for watching movies. (Not quite the info your after, but thought it might be worth knowing…)

it’s mainly the “old” one’s that don’t cost much.
The “newer” do tend to cost a lot more.
Things you’d need to look out for iirc is stuff like resolution etc.

Cheap ones have a lower light output meaning only a small picture, say 60″.
Also they have a low resolution.
So check specs on native resolution and light output.
You could pay $10,000 for a top of the range 4K projector.
A bit of info on projectors..
