Need advice on a projector for my laptop

I don’t know much at all about projectors so I thought I’d come here.
I have a laptop with a max res of 1366×768 and I’m looking to spend around £300 on a projector. Does anyone have any suggestions on what to get? Any help would be great,

How often will you be using it, and what for ? No point getting a really decent one if you are only going to be doing occasional ppt presentations etc.
