Whats better ATI X1300 256MB or Nvidia 7600GS 512MB
January 30th, 2020
I have a ATI X1300 (256MB) PCI-e card but i have been given a Nvidia 7600GS (512MB) PCI-e card.
Which one of these is the better cards for what i am running?
Core 2 Duo E6400 – 2.13GHz
2GB DDR2-533
Vista Home Premium
I know it sounds a silly question as one of them is 256MB the other is 512MB but with the my ATI everest reports that i have 256MB Local video memory and 767 non-local memory (dont understand anything bout this )
Your thoughts are appreaciated thanks
i would chose the Nvidia 7600GS, although they are both bad performing cards.
the link here shows it also, look in the graphic for the 2 blue colored bars.

well,
personally i have been using ATI and Nvidia.. ( not exectly those cards but others )
and i was having some problems with ATI, ( ATI engine crash, n stuff.. when i was gaming high-rendering games n stuff witch was rendering quality graphics )
so i changed to Nvidia…
its your choice mate, but i recommend the Nvidia
dont know if this was usefull information or not.. but its somthing
thanks for the input guys,
they were both free cards so cant complain about them not performing as well as some.
Its mainly for my nephew to play call of duty 4 on and me to play fifa 08, i want to play in as much detail as possible
just out of interest what game resolutions do you peeps play games at?
How do i work out what settings is best to use, ie anti-aliasing and such.
Please remember to Code all links in future. -
7600GS by far.

I shall try to 😛
well the best way to figure out what resolution and options is to monitor if your fps stays at an steady rate. to see the fps i normally use ati tray tools that has an OSD function.
Nvidia for sure mate. You would be very disappointed with the ATI.

Your nephew should have the 7600 gs if you want him to have nay chance in playng cod 4, and you should get the x1300, because it will have no problem handling the soccer game fifa 08, but if it was the other way around your nephew would not be able to play cod4.
-Good luck
I am a big fan of Nvidia over Ati, I have Nvidia and its so much better than my laptops avi card before.
argument it then, people dont want to hear such things they want facts about what is really better and all.
extra ram of the 7600 would help play newer games at higher resolutions compared to the ati and the nvidias ram will clock higher (as there is more of it),and memory clock (ram) is whats most important in newer games
