What is the difference between?
January 11th, 2014
I have 2 questions to ask;
Q1) What is the difference between LAMP OS & BASE OS?
Q2) How to find whether PC is i386 Platform or x86_64 Platform?
Thank you!
Q1) What is the difference between LAMP OS & BASE OS?
not sure what you are referring to here
Q2) How to find whether PC is i386 Platform or x86_64 Platform?
think you are asking about 32bit or 64bit platform
any PC can do 32bit
to do 64bit your CPU & mobo need to support it (most do these days)

LAMP OS ???
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LAMP_(software_bundle)
Thanx for the answer.
Is i386 platform is 32 bit too?
so LAMP means linux ? (the LAMP link you posted refers to a server, not a home PC)
BASE mean windows ?
Is i386 platform is 32 bit too?
actually I386 is only 32bit
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/I386
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/X86_architecture
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/I686
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/X86-64
these all refer to an architecture (hardware) not an operating system
operating systems are referred to as 32bit or 64bit (windows mainly is a x86 OS)

LAMP means it has Apache, PHP and MySQL bundled with it (Linux Apache MySQL PHP). Basically it’s a server ready to go.
