Yeah, in simple terms, that’s pretty much how it’s done.
Many tutorials on YouTube.
This is just one of them… This is part 1, you can do the rest to find part 2 / 3 etc etc.

Answer #3
Actually, you should design it in Expression Web or Dreamweaver or whatever HTML editor app you like and use Photoshop for the graphics.

agree
if you can handle Pshop you should be able to handle Dreamweaver
Answer #5
That is BS, you don’t use DW for design but for coding part. Designing starts in Photoshop, then you convert/code the page into HTML/CSS or WP, Drupal or some other template. If you’re good coder, you don’t need HTML editor you can use Notepad.

you ever use Dreamweaver ? (it has a “design view” built into it)
if you have then you are not using correctly if you can’t design in it
Answer #7
Lol, as a matter of fact I’m a web designer. I use entire Adobe Creative Suite-Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Fireworks and Illustrator. Design views serves to show you how your code/website looks like. But you don’t start designing from coding software. First you make a mock-up, then PSD, then you slice it and use HTML/CSS to position elements.

that would be a “preview view” (F12)
I think you design pages in design view (that’s what I do as a web site developer)
you aware you can edit in design view ?
First you make a mock-up, then PSD, then you slice it and use HTML/CSS to position elements.
sounds redundant to me, but to each his own
Answer #9

That is a standard procedure. If you take a look at the websites like Theme Forest and Template Monster you will see that with every template comes PSD and it’s not redundant as you may think.

I just renamed notepad.exe to “Awesome Website Designer”. It’s the best!

Are you another developer who thinks he knows everything about design and now he is giving advice because he is so smart? I have seen website designed by developer and they are pure crap. You can try renaming notepad.exe to ‘coder that knows the code’ and doesn’t need visual editor for designing.
Answer #12
Actually, I was helping you, but you didn’t get it.
Answer #13
No, I didn’t I thought you were on the side of ‘visual editors’ and not people who actually know html/css…
Answer #14

sounds like you are describing yourself here !
design is only part of developing a website
judging by your comments it seems you’ve visited a lot of forums but never really built a website
Answer #15
Now now, let’s not judge.
Just because something’s called design view doesn’t mean it’s meant for designing
Answer #16
As a matter of fact you can’t. Design view renders code so badly and if you use it for designing and not just for preview purpose you will end up with unusable HTML/CSS code and website that looks terrible in any browser.
