i'm using my neighbor wifi from next door. their network unsecured and fast. I was wondering is there a software or way that I would know when they are using it because sometimes i dl, and the last time i did that while they was on the computer, they moved the router, and i didn't recieve any wifi for a week. didn't want that to happen again.

lmfao i got 20 weps keys i broke from my area and a high gain arial i even got the wep key for my local council with all there buildings are joined though whole town with wifi so any where in town i can use my mda vario2 to get on the net

EDIT: nvm WEP and WAP are codes of the wireless router/usb etc. So, if you got that you are able to connect to their network
lol. have you tried getting onto their router page? you could run through the standard admin: password settings for the common router brands. then you can see if someone is connected or their pc is on. how many mac’s have ip’s assigned etc. it wont tell you if they are downloading tho. you could use IDM and schedule your downloads for late at night/early morning, then they will be none the wiser. im pretty sure he does mean WEP as we are talking about breaking into wifi networks

that’s what i usually do. but sometimes they get home late night around 12 or 1am, so i’m not sure when they’re on.

Ahh.. that sums it up. I’m just glad I know how to WEP my signals. I hear leechers are running wildly these days.
Just get together with your neighbors and work out a suitable roster for your shared connection………..

just wanted to shed some light on WAP.
It is basically the same as WEP. It is security that uses a more complex password encryption yet has system detection. Many large corporations use it instead of simple WEPs. It can be wifi. But only higher end systems and routers can produce WAPs.

WEP is terrible. Anyone with a BackTrack cd can hack WEP. Use can use NET Traffic Meter to monitor.
Ip Sniffer or Kismet for interrogation.
And since you know its a Linksys you can go to Google and look up what the default login settings are. I doubt they would of changed it considering they don’t have security enabled.

Maybe they have spotted different so they change the wifi router to wire router. You’d better make friends with your neighbor before they catch you.
Move your laptop around their house to see which position is connected then use it. I don’t take responsibility of what I am telling you. somebody will know if their internal IP is 192.168.0.2 then they will know one person connected before they connect...
Not all the people would care about their IP. When the network connected, they don’t care anythings.

have not tried backtrack cd but the progs I have tyrie to crack wep are mainly unix based and support a very limited number of wifi cards I know many people who say they crack wep in a few seconds but none reply to pms for info on what they use
