VMware Workstation

January 23rd, 2020

I’ve tired to install WinXp and dual boot it but I had a bad feeling about it so I ended that. I had help from members on how to get it to dual boot on Vista which I am thankful for but might not do because I still have a bad feeling about it. So I was told a while back about VMware so I got it because they told me I could just run XP from it without having to restart and all that. So now that I have it and my Windows XP Pro cd I need help with setting up WinXP and use it. Please help me Vista is getting me mad now.
Answer #1
its fairly straight forward, but i find Virtual PC easyer to use.
put your disk in your drive, start up vmware and make a new profile (/configuration, can remember the term they use)
configure it with the amount of RAM you want, add a virtual hard drive, and start it
there should be an option somewhere to capture (/use, again cant remember the term they use) a cd drive, select the one your disk is in
the program should then act as you would expect a normal PC to, install XP as you would normaly
Answer #2
I have Home Premium so VPC won’t run on m,y computer
Answer #3
reports about this seem confusing. apparently VPC 2007 SP1 (might) run on any edition of vista SP1
