Vista & Firefox Silly Prob!

January 23rd, 2020

Guys, I’ve enabled the “Classic Start Menu” on my Vista Ultimate. Now, when ever I click on Start Button and then select Shut Down, I get this drop-down and instead of “Shut Down” being the default option it’s “Sleep” which is the default option there. I tried to change it via Control Panel, but in vain. Please help me to keep “Shut Down” as the default option!!
And also, till yesterday, when ever I opened my or any other site, it automatically logged in, but now it takes me to the “log-in” area first, and though the user-name and password are already filled and I just need to press the button “log-in” but I don’t wanna do that. How to restore this one too? I wanna be logged in automatically!

Answer #1
For the shutdown button to be default on the start menu:
Start -> Control Panel -> Hardware and Sound -> Power Options -> Change Plan Settings (this will be below your current power plan) -> Change Advanced Power Settings.
Power buttons and lid > start menu power button >change it to shutdown.
For your firefox – do you delete cookies or temp files regulary? I had this problem and none of my passwords were getting remembered by firefox. So I reinstalled – I deleted all personal files and previous folders an installed again and it works fine.

Do you tick the ‘remember me’ box when logging it? It should keep you signed in on the computer.
