Virtual Drive Rips

January 24th, 2020

I am looking for a music ripping program that can rip to MP3 from a CD image mounted in a virtual drive by programs such as PowerISO under Windows 7.
My music CD images are usually mdf/mds format but sometimes ISO or bwi/bwt (Blindwrite5).
I have tried Easy CD-DA Extractor but it will only access my hardware DVD drive – not the virtual drive.
Nero 8 is the same. The only drive it recognizes is the hardware DVD drive.

I’ve just done it with windows media player. Mount your audio cd image, open wmp, select rip. it will recognize your virtual machine.

Thanks for the info .
I am interested to know what program you used to create the virtual drive.
I tried your suggestion but WMP still would not recognise the PowerISO ver 4.5 created virtual drive.
Began to wonder if it was the nature of the virtual drive because while Windows Explorer could see the contents of the drive and copy the contents elsewhere I could not get a PLAY option (available for my hardware DVD-RW drive) when I right clicked the drive.
Installed Alcohol 120 ver 1.9.8 (build 7612) and added a virtual drive and Hey Presto! everything works exactly how you said.
Now to start ripping all my CD images to MP3s so the missus can load them onto her Sony Walkman.

I simply used daemon tools

I opened WMP and clicked rip. then I just selected my virtual drive.
maybe you virtual drive creator doesn’t work perfectly (some kind of installation problem I think).

I tried to install that version of Daemon Tools as you suggested but had problems with the Generic Trial Starter 1.01 OEM program. It would enter a loop every time I started STARTER.EXE and kept re-starting the program with ad-infinitum entries in Task Manager> Applications. The only way to kill the loop was to restart Windows 7.
